The District Health Office confirmed that three people in the district of Makawanpur died of Japanese encephalitis at separate locations.
There were two reported fatalities from Bakaiya Rural Municipality and one from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City.

Similarly, 48-year-old Susmita Gole from Bagmati Rural Municipality is receiving treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, Chitwan, for a Japanese encephalitis infection that has become life-threatening.
In the meantime, the District Health Office reported that the dengue infection in the Makawanpur district was out of control and that more than 750 dengue patients had been identified in various wards of Manahari Rural Municipality and Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City.
Patients in critical condition have been referred to Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Patan Hospital, and Bir Hospital in the capital.
